Smart Cooler – Homogenise Sand Cooling System

Description

The SMART COOLERs ensure effective sand cooling by distributing water and air into the sand at the same time. The sand gets homogenized due to the bidirectional rotation of the sand in the chamber powered by a single motor and double drive technology. The Smart cooler consists of a Main cooling chamber, a Drive unit, a water distribution system, a Fluidization blower, a Discharge door System & an Exhaust arrangement with a blower. The Main Cooling chamber consists of two counter-rotational heads, provided with 4 mixing blades on each head. The Mixing blades are multipurpose, they move the sand from the input to the output and they also make the sand homogenized. During this movement, with the help of the water distributed inside the chamber, the sand is actively agitated to moisten the sand grains.

The counter-rotating mixing blades will constantly back-blend the sand to make it homogenized. While moving the sand, the moving blades will keep the sand loose, so that the cooling air can fluidize the sand mass and penetrate between the sand grains to flush away the water vapor. The mixing blades are driven by 2 gear units with a common motor, and they are connected through a coupling & a v belt pulley. Fluid coupling ensures a safe drive system. A Self-adjusting discharge door keeps the input sand rate equal to the output sand rate. The Discharge door is operated by Electromechanical actuators and controlled by encoders. Based on the input sand temperature and moisture, water will be distributed in the chamber. Moisture sensors and Temperature sensors are provided to control the sand output temperature and output moisture. All the operations of the cooler are controlled by a PLC to achieve a continuous output.
